Premium Teak Wood Creations
Sae Wooden is an Indonesian woodworking brand based in Jepara, Central Java. In Javanese, Sae means “good” while Wooden in English means “made of wood.”
Sae Wooden was founded by Danang Wahyudi in 2018.
Danang decided to leave his job as an office worker and chose to become an entrepreneur because he saw great potential in providing environmentally friendly products. In his eyes, since environmental issues emerged, many hotels and companies have put forward the theme of being environmentally friendly. However, there are not many manufacturers in Indonesia that can provide environmentally friendly products that meet world standards. That’s why Sae Wooden exists.
Sae Wooden produces various wooden crafts, such as tableware, kitchen utensils, office utensils, wooden toys, and home decorations. Every product is done in detail and very carefully by local craftsmen native to Jepara. The wood materials used are teak and mahogany. The wood is coming from sustainably managed forests in Indonesia by the State Forestry Public Company (Perhutani) to ensure reforestation in Indonesia is maintained.
Now, Sae Wooden’s products can not only be enjoyed by domestic consumers, but also by buyers from abroad. Through the marketplace and in collaboration with international traders, Sae Wooden products have penetrated eight countries, including the United States, Japan, and Germany.
In this exhibition, Sae Wooden displays several of its superior products, such as mugs with the Indonesian map pattern, coasters for aromatherapy mats, and decorations in the shape of the Borobudur Temple stupa. Uniquely, the craft products with the Borobudur Temple stupa concept offer seven parts, consist of glasses, coasters, soup bowls, serving bowls, dinner plates, trays, and cutlery sets. If stacked, the seven parts will again form the stupa of Borobudur Temple.
